The Matrix and Plato's Allegory of the Cave

I can see a direct connection between plato's allegory of the cave and The movie Matri, the similarity found between the two of them made me think that the director of matrix shoot the movie based on Plato's allegory. The concept of both shares the same twist,as plato's allegory potray a lot of residents being shackle to the wall unable to c anything else beside whats being shown to them which is a virtual reality versus the people in the world which all of them thought was the reality and the one that receive enlightment was able to be freed from the shackles and move out from the cave.As neo the main protagonist one day contacted by morpheus thats trying to show him that the world he lives in is fake and offer him a direct chance to be freed from the virtual world hes living in,he chose to be freed from the virtual because he himself felt that theres something wrong with his whole life and as he enters the reality he start to learn a lot of things which he wouldnt know if he chose to stay among the rest that was deceived by the machines .He never choose to return to that virtual world life and then fight on gallantly with the rest that receives enlightment and went on to become the saviour of the rest of mankind to allow more people to be freed from the shackles and receive true freedom like himself.

The connection between the matrix and the monomyth as its story goes by,Neo the protagonist going through the Hero's trial from a normal person going through obstacle and slowly transforming into a real hero to other team mates achieving very high status in their hearts. In the end the Hero continue on his harsh journey to fight against destiny.
